Starry Night

It’s been a busy weekend for the Cowboy.  Lots of rustlin’, wranglin’ and so on.

The other day, a long, tall Texan told the Cowboy that he had decided a few years back that we were all put here on the range to do two things:  to love and to serve.  He said this with a profound sense of sincerity and absolute humility.  The Cowboy is proud to be able to call this man a friend.  This is for him.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

This song was written and performed by a French singer-songwriter who, like the Cowboy, uses a pseudonym: the always sweet and quirky -M-, who appeared in these pages here and here.

Sometimes we are in control of our destiny, sometimes we can help someone in need, and sometimes we are the star that needs help to shine once again.  Over the last few days, the Cowboy has had several stars help him in a significant and meaningful way- all without any expectation of something in return.  It is truly quite moving.  The Cowboy is very thankful.  But he is also inspired and uplifted.  Perhaps you will be too.

When we go out of our way to help others, we make the world a better place and ourselves better people.  And there are stars all around us who we can help to shine again.
