Short & Sweet

Vodpod videos no longer available.

This short film was made using stop-motion by Carlos Lascano, an Argentine filmmaker who now resides in Spain.  Lascano completed his studies to be a lawyer, but he decided to dream a little instead.

Such risk-taking stories are repeated so often as to become banal.  These are real risks for real people, however.  They can be frightening as well as exhilarating.  And despite all our wishes and desires, reality does not always play out as our dreams do.  Sometimes one takes a risk and loses.

As Lascano himself shows us in this work, the dreams themselves can be beautiful, poignant things.  Is it better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all?  That question presupposes that we have a choice in the matter.  Pursuing our dreams, like falling in love,  is sometimes beyond our conscious control.

All we can do is to keep trying.  What other choice is there?
